A compromise agreement is a signed agreement that protects you from an employment tribunal claim by ensuring that an employee cannot bring any kind of claim relating to their employment or its termination. In return you will pay the employee a sum of money.
In order for a compromise agreement to be valid an employee must obtain independent legal advice and it is normal practice for the employer to pay for, or contribute to the employee's legal fees relating to this.
Our employment solicitors have a vast experience of drafting compromise agreements for a wide variety of businesses. We can ensure that the compromise agreement we draft protects your businesses interests. We will approach the situation fairly and professionally to ensure that the end result is as amicable as possible.
When multiple redundancies are being made and a number of employees require compromise agreements the procedure can become complicated and lengthy. This process can be further complicated if each person seeks separate legal representation.
To assist you with this, we now offer a new service for multiple compromise agreement sign offs.
