Director Disqualifications

If you face being disqualified when acting as a director the consequences for you as an individual can be difficult. Our insolvency solicitors are able to help you if you are facing proceedings under the Company Directors Disqualification Act.  We can assess your chances of avoiding being disqualified and advise on the best course of action to take. It is crucial to act early and take control of the situation quickly if you wish to defend the disqualification.

By receiving legal advice at an early stage you may be able to cut the period of disqualification or even get the disqualification dropped even if proceedings have already been issued.

An Alternative Route

If your chances of success are low we can advise you about the alternative route available: giving a disqualification undertaking. This is a document which states the ‘Unfit Conduct’ that a Director is prepared to admit to. This can be a cheaper alternative as it ends the claim in the most cost effective manner.

Before signing an undertaking our specialist solicitors will carefully check the terms and explain exactly what you are agreeing to.

Get advice early

It is vital to seek specialist legal advice as early as possible. Disqualification can last between 2 to 15 years and in many cases a reduced period of disqualification can be negotiated.

Let us help you

Our experienced insolvency team can help you to diminish the effects of your disqualification or get it removed completely. With quick action and years of experience we will advise you on the best route suited to your circumstances.
