Information for Defendants

We have been engaged in substantial amounts of Defendant work for over 30 years, particularly in areas of employers' liability, public liability and road traffic claims. Throughout this time we have become thoroughly familiar with the types of claim which are typically brought against a variety of types of Defendant, such as local authorities, private companies, unincorporated bodies and individuals. Our dealings with Defendant clients are either directly with the client or via their insurers and loss adjusters. This experience has enabled us to understand the nature of such claims and how best to deal with them.

We take a pro-active and cost effective approach to claims handling and establish the correct point of contact at an early stage. We recognise the importance of providing immediate advice on the appropriate level of financial reserve needed for each case. After proper investigation, realistic advice is always given. If we feel a claim is legitimate we will advise accordingly and take all proper steps to enable the claim to proceed to settlement at an early stage thereby minimising costs exposure. If a case is to be fought, we will do so in a robust manner using the appropriate choice of counsel at trial.
