Actons advise on sale of Instaprint to John E Wright

A team of lawyers from Nottingham law firm Actons have advised the owner of Instaprint, a major digital printing company based in the Creative Quarter of Nottingham, on the sale of the business to John E Wright Ltd.

Instaprint will remain an autonomous part of the John E Wright Group of companies and will bring considerable expertise in the areas of booklet making, brochure work and small format digital printing in general. All existing Instaprint staff are remaining with the business.  The former owner, Peter Gauntley, is looking forward to a well-deserved retirement following a short overlap period.

Tony Barnett Managing Director of John E Wright said, “This is a great opportunity to improve the quality and capacity of our small format print capabilities to the marketing and design communities throughout the Midlands. Instaprint has excellent staff and equipment and will complement our already leading position in the Midlands large format digital print market. He added “there is considerable scope for cross selling to each other’s customer base and we are confident of future growth.”

Peter Gauntley commented, “Although looking forward to my retirement, I have known Tony for a number of years and know he will invest in the staff and the business to grow the operation in the future. I feel I am leaving my staff and customers in safe hands. John E Wright’s network of branches leaves growth opportunities for the existing business and staff alike. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers for their support over the past 26 years.”

Actons Director and corporate lawyer Peter Flowerday led the legal team that advised Peter Gauntley, which included fellow director and commercial property lawyer Amanda Gordon.

He commented: “We were delighted to help Peter achieve his goal of being able to retire, safe in the knowledge that his staff and customers are in safe hands. I look forward to seeing the business go from strength to strength.”
