Actons has fundraised nearly £3,500 for Age UK Nottingham & Nottinghamshire, smashing their £2,000 target, and anticipate that total increasing even further.
A group of keen walkers from Actons, who are a long-term corporate supporter of the charity, took part in a gruelling fundraising challenge to mark 75 years of the charity. On 6 May they took on the White Peak Challenge Walk, a distance of 26.4 miles over strenuous terrain following some of the most rugged parts of the Peak District.
Actons recently held a celebratory lunch at their offices where Maggie Ross, Fundraising Director at Age UK Notts was able to meet with the group of walkers and hear all about the walk, and thanked them personally for raising nearly £3,500.
Maggie Ross MBE, Business and Community Relations Director at Age UK Notts said: “We are very grateful to them all for the kind donation….such a big cheque in so many ways. It was great to meet all the walkers and marshal too – some great tales, and it sounded a very enjoyable fun time if you take out the injuries and blisters!”

Without the ongoing partnership of people in the local community, such as the team at Actons, we would not be able to do the life-changing work that we do.”
