A team of lawyers from Nottingham law firm Actons have advised on the transfer of ownership of AdamsonJones to Simon Cooper and Nic Ferrar.

AdamsonJones, a firm of patent and trademark attorneys is headquartered in Nottingham’s BioCity, with additional offices in London, and a new office in Leicester.  This is the latest move in the businesses growth plans to build on its position as one of the leading IP specialists in the East Midlands following several new recruits.

As part of the deal, founder Dr Steve Jones has stepped down as executive director, but will continue to act as a non-executive chairman and consult to the business.

Simon Cooper said: “Steve’s retirement from the business has been several years in the planning to allow for a smooth and gradual transition for the new management team, and with the best interests of our clients in mind.”

Actons Director and corporate lawyer Peter Flowerday led the legal team that advised the new owners on the deal, assisted by corporate lawyer Rob Northall. Peter commented: “We were delighted to work with Simon and Nic to realise their plans to transfer ownership of AdamsonJones and continue to take the business forward. It’s also been great to advise another firm of growing professional advisors in the city”.
