Major life events such as births, deaths, divorce or the coming-of-age of loved ones, are all potential reasons to review your Will.
It is even more important to do so if your personal financial circumstances have changed which may result in your estate not being distributed as you would like.
To make sure your existing Will reflects these changes, still complies with your wishes and takes advantage of the latest position in terms of tax, we follow The Law Society’s recommendation for reviewing your Will every five years.

FAQs
-
When should I review my Will?
The Law Society recommends that a Will is reviewed at least every five years or after any “major life change” such as a divorce, having children / grandchildren or receiving an inheritance.
-
What happens if my Will is out of date?
A will “speaks from death”. If your circumstances significantly differ at the date of your death as opposed to when the Will was originally made, there could be problems in dealing with your estate and your beneficiaries may not get what you intended.

"Extremely satisfied with the standard of service provided by Actons and would not hesitate to use Actons for any future needs. I was most impressed by the very professional and friendly manner in which the delicate issues of our Wills and LPA's were processed by Ruth Swain. Because I have a mobility problem which made it difficult to attend your offices, Ruth conducted all our business very effectively in my own home."Joseph Greatorex
