We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our growing Property team as a full-time Residential Property Legal Assistant in a brand-new role.
As a successful candidate working as part of our close-knit, friendly team, you’ll work closely alongside our residential conveyancing solicitor David Stapleton and, when needed, the rest of the property team, providing an essential and professional support service.
Our residential property service is absolutely not high-volume, low value. You’ll help provide a bespoke, high-quality service. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in a busy environment.

On a day-to-day basis, you’ll support David with various administrative tasks. The Property team is headed up by director Caroline Pearson and includes two associates, a solicitor, a trainee solicitor and two secretaries.

Key Aspects of the Role:
- General file administration (both paper and electronic files) using our case management system.
- Copying and scanning documents
- Opening and closing files and archiving
- Preparing invoices
- Preparing instructions to our accounts team
- Undertaking online property and Companies House searches
- Taking telephone messages for colleagues within the team
- Receiving and implementing instructions given by digital dictation
- Preparing SDLT Returns and Land Registry digital applications
- Producing accurate correspondence and documentation
- Managing client updates, file progress, and diaries
- Some general typing tasks
Skills, Experience and Competencies you will have:
- A law degree, or previous experience working in a similar role
- A good working knowledge of IT applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Professional, enthusiastic team player.
- A proactive, supportive and reliable team member.
- Quick and accurate typing
- Excellent communication skills – written, oral and aural
- The ability to organise and prioritise a varied workload
- The following would be desirable, but not essential:
- Previous experience using legal case management software
- Previous experience of working in a law firm
- GCSE English & Maths Grade C or above (or equivalent)

You’ll work full-time, Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week (9am – 5pm).
Due to the nature of this role, it will be based in the office full-time.
