Boy suffers skull fractures after falling from a Primark escalator

A young boy aged 6, fell from the escalator whilst in Primark and suffered 5 fractures to his skull.

He fell between the first and ground floor of the shop, landing on a clothing rail.

Health and safety executives have been called in to investigate the incident, whilst the boy lies in hospital in an induced coma.

This is not the only time that a child has been injured on a Primark escalator; in 2008 a 3 year old child fell between floors, ending up in hospital with serious injuries.
