Dead earwig discovered in Asda bread rolls

A dead earwig has been found in a sealed pack of 4 bread rolls by a couple who bought the pack from an Asda store.

It was exposed in the sealed bag when they took the rolls out of the freezer to make sandwiches.

This is not the first time a foreign body has been found in supermarket bread products; a schoolboy, aged 10, found a dead lizard embedded in a loaf of bread.

This is not the first time a foreign body has been found in supermarket bread products; a schoolboy, aged 10, found a dead lizard embedded in a loaf of bread.

The boy was cutting a slice of bread from a fresh loaf purchased from a Tesco store when he found the reptile stuck to the bottom.

Both stores have undertaken investigations.
