The 25 year old admitted she had never visited the hair salon before but trusted it’s appearance. However, when she was having her treatment a patch test was never offered by the hairdresser.
The day after the treatment the woman from Liverpool, said when she woke up her scalp was itchy and her skin felt raw and tender. Her scalp was beginning to swell as well as her forehead. She went to her GP who prescribed her with steroids and painkillers.
Despite this, just two days after she visited the hair salon, the woman was rushed to Royal Liverpool Hospital. Her face had swelled twice the size, and she stated the pain was horrendous. The swelling had moved from her scalp and forehead down to her face and throat, she was unable to open her eyes and her throat was starting to close shut.
Her hair became damaged, thin and patchy as a result of the reaction. The woman instructed Solicitors to help bring her claim against the hair salon for carrying out the treatment negligently which caused her severe injuries.
