On October 24th, the iconic independent bookstore, which has been a Lake District institution for over a century, passed into the hands of Will Smith and Polly Atkin, marking them the seventh generation of ownership.
Established in Grasmere in 1887, November 2023 will mark 128 years of continual business from the current premises in Broadgate House.
