Actons Bolster Commercial Disputes Team With New Arrival

Actons has bolstered its commercial disputes team with the appointment of a new senior lawyer.

Gordon Monaghan joins the firm as an Associate in its Dispute Resolution team having qualified as a solicitor in 2002 and previously worked at Browne Jacobson and Bray & Bray.

Gordon has extensive experience dealing with high value and complex commercial disputes and property disputes and specialises in resolving contractual disputes, restrictive covenant disputes and company law disputes. He also became an Accredited Commercial Mediator in 2017, and where appropriate, uses alternative methods of dispute resolution (including mediation and expert determination) to minimise the costs that can often be associated with commercial disputes.

Gordon said: “I’m really proud to have joined Actons, a forward-thinking law firm, which is so well known for providing an excellent service. I’ve known members of the team at Actons for a while, and when the opportunity came up to join them, it was one I couldn’t turn down. I think the two main things that attracted me was their consistent ability to punch well above their weight and their reputation in the market. Also, they are an incredibly friendly bunch of people.”

Caroline Bowler, Director and Head of the Dispute Resolution group at Actons commented: “I am absolutely delighted that Gordon has joined us. He is held in high regard by clients and other professionals alike, and we are looking forward to his future with us. His appointment supports our growth plans for the team and wider firm as we look to grow our commercial disputes service to our clients.”
